Last week I was chatting with Robin Leenhouts. She mentioned that her home, designed, of course, by her parents, will be on this year’s Historic Milwaukee Spaces and Traces Home tour. Watch this website for more information about the May 21st event! HMI Spaces and Traces
What a great opportunity to spend some time getting the know the intimate details of one of the Leenhouts’ finest works. In addition, this would be a great chance to talk with Robin about the way her parents designed and why they did so. The home is an elegant model of how to live and work compactly, happily, sustainably, and connected to nature in an urban environment.
Oh, and by the way, the reason for seeing Robin last week was in preparation for this year’s scholarship fundraiser….keep your virtual ears open!
2010 Scholarship Fundraiser Recap

Thanks to all who attended the 2010 Fundraising Event at Sarup! The toast to Sarah Christensen, the new scholar, followed by Joan Soranno’s lecture, couldn’t be beat.
The event raised more than $6,000, which helps toward the goal of increasing the scholarship level from $3,000 to $5,000. Thanks to all who attended the fundraiser and donated towards this worthy cause. I hope to see you at next year’s event.
