The Scholarship Fundraising Event in 2008 also served to kick off the 40 year anniversary of UWM’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning. This special reception was held on the fourth floor of UWM’s Kenilworth Building. The former factory’s raw structure and filtered south daylight served as a backdrop for an insightful panel of practitioner-couples.
The Leenhouts’ practice, that of a professional and life partnership, was the inspiration for the panel. Pat Frost, an original contributor to the scholarship fund, moderated a lively discussion. Panelists included Grace La and James Dallman, Renee Kubesh and TJ Morley, Allyson Nemec and Todd Badovski, and James Shields and Joy Peot-Shields.
Cassie Hibbert was awarded the Leenhouts Scholarship and said a few words of gratitude.
